ВЕРБАЛЬНАЯ И НЕВЕРБАЛЬНАЯ РЕЧЬ
Ораторское искусство — искусство выступать. Всё это изучается в риторике.
Вербальная речь – это текст, который можно написать на бумаге.
Сейчас вы читаете вербальную речь.
Невербальная речь – это звуки, жесты, паузы, интонации…
То, чего нет в этих строках.
Вербальная речь не меняется от смены оратора.
Слова остаются словами.
Невербальная речь разная у ораторов.
Невербальная речь меняется от смены оратора.
Публике важны обе формы речи.
Невербальная даже более важна, как показывают исследования.

Риторика и ораторское искусство — похожие по значению слова.
Но это — не одно и тоже.
Риторика — это наука. Ораторское искусство, понятно — искусство.
Наука и искусство, как принято считать еще со времен философии Древней Греции — два способа познания мира.

И тому и другому можно обучаться. Есть преподаватели по риторике, а есть тренера по ораторскому искусству.
Мне больше нравится, как вы заметили, считаться тренером по ораторскому искусству, нежели по риторике, хотя я досконально знаю и то, и другое.
РИТОРИКА
Как уже говорилось, риторика — это такая наука, изучающая воздействие одних людей на других с помощью речи.

Ораторскому искусству не учат на лекциях. Этому обучаются в группах, на тренингах, курсах.
И на этих занятиях участники обязательно выступают, выступают много, оттачивают отдельные элементы речи, выполняют развивающие упражнения и… творят, экспериментируют, пробуют… После таких занятий нет одинаковых выступлений, нет одинаковых жестов… Зато есть удовольствие от процесса, радость выступления, гордость собою.
